TOMTAR Roofing & Sheet Metal employees are trained and certified for whatever task they are performing. From fall protection and forklift operation, to crane operator and propane handling, you can be assured that TOMTAR employees are well prepared for a career in roofing.

Our safety training emphasizes:

• Fall protection
• PPE (personal protective equipment)
• First aid
• Propane fuelling and handling
• Fundamentals in health and safety
• Accident/incident investigation

Safety Certificate of Recognition

TOMTAR Roofing has completed the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program, a third-party safety program audited by the BC Construction Safety Alliance.

As a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia (RCABC) TOMTAR has:

• A minimum of $5,000,000 liability insurance coverage
• Current WorkSafeBC clearance letters
• Completed BCCSA Certificate of Recognition (COR)
• A “hot works” endorsement to ensure that our policy covers the use of torches for some roofing applications
• Proof that employees have completed the National Torch Safety program
• Compliance with specific policies regarding the use of open flames, propane and implementation of fire watches
