From fall protection and forklift operation, to crane operator and propane handling, you can be assured that TOMTAR employees are well prepared for a career in roofing.

Our safety training emphasizes:

  • Fall protection
  • PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • First aid
  • Propane fuelling and handling
  • Fundamentals in health and safety
  • Accident/incident investigation

Safety Certificate of Recognition

TOMTAR Roofing has completed the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program, a third-party safety program audited by the BC Construction Safety Alliance.

As a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia (RCABC) TOMTAR has:

  • A minimum of $5,000,000 liability insurance coverage
  • Current WorkSafeBC clearance letters
  • Completed BCCSA Certificate of Recognition (COR)
  • A “hot works” endorsement to ensure that our policy covers the use of torches for some roofing applications
  • Proof that employees have completed the National Torch Safety program
  • Compliance with specific policies regarding the use of open flames, propane and implementation of fire watches
